“Séance” Fort Point Artists Community Gallery, Boston, MA. (Co-curated with Jane Marsching.) For Seance, Sheila Gallagher created “Psychic Chat Room Studio” which transformed part of the gallery into a working studio and channeling room. Working in conjunction with web clairvoyants from United Psychics.com, Gallagher made work in the gallery based on the conversations and visions of various psychics she consulted online. Becker Collection, Boston College Digital Archive Project. (Co Directors: Sheila Gallagher and Judy Bookbinder) The Becker Archive contains approximately 650 hitherto unexhibited and undocumented drawings by Joseph Becker and his colleagues, nineteenth-century artists who worked as artist-reporters for Frank Leslie’s Illustrated Weekly observing, drawing, and sending back for publication images of the Civil War and other aspects of 19th-century American culture.
